The lab welcomes applications on a rolling basis. We value strong programming skills (R and/or Python), comfort with quantitative and statistical thinking, and genuine curiosity about cancer biology — but backgrounds vary, and we are happy to train motivated people coming from engineering, statistics, computer science, or the life sciences.
PhD Students
Prospective PhD students apply through one of Johns Hopkins' graduate programs (for example Biomedical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a biomedical sciences program) and can rotate with the lab. If you are already a Hopkins graduate student interested in a rotation, reach out directly. Projects span spatial transcriptomics methods, single-cell analysis, and multi-scale modeling of the tumor microenvironment.
Postdoctoral Fellows
We are looking for postdoctoral fellows interested in developing computational and statistical methods for spatial and single-cell cancer data, mechanistic / QSP modeling, and uncertainty quantification. A PhD (or near completion) in a quantitative or computational field and a track record of independent research are expected.
Students & Research Assistants
Motivated undergraduate and masters students are occasionally hosted for research projects. Email with your interests and availability.
How to apply
Email adeshpande@jhu.edu with:
- A short note on your research interests and why the lab is a fit
- Your CV
- (For postdocs) a brief description of your prior research and one or two representative papers
Please include "Prospective [PhD / Postdoc / Student]" in the subject line.
